Dear readers,
The activities of the American Society of Mexico (AmSoc) were intense during the first quarter of the year, with an agenda fully dedicated to strengthening the bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States and seeking certainty for the continuity of the shared goals that have been achieved thanks to the cooperation between our nations.
In April, we were present at the Texas Policy Summit 2026, a forum where we found significant opportunities to reinforce the active trade exchange we maintain with that U.S. state.
During his participation in the “Visionaries 2030” panel at the C&IA Strategy Summit, organized by Oracle and B2V MX, Enrique Huesca, CEO of AmSoc, addressed the importance of artificial intelligence for regional competitiveness.
Last month, we participated in a pair of forums organized to analyze the outlook ahead of the imminent review of the USMCA: “USMCA 2026: Strategic Renewal or Breaking Point for North America?”, presented by the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF); and the dialogue “Bilateral Agreements,” promoted by AmSoc and Actinver.
We also met with business leaders from Monterrey to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the region amid the current moment in the relationship between Mexico and the United States.
As part of our effort to coordinate institutional initiatives from both the public and private sectors, we held meetings with Dr. Arturo Zaldívar, retired Justice of the Supreme Court and current General Coordinator of Politics and Government of the Presidency, and with Hugo Aguilar Ortiz, President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. In this way, AmSoc seeks to promote an agenda focused on economic growth and attracting investment to Mexico.
We also attended the Congress of Mexico City, where we had the honor of receiving the 2026 Business Merit Medal, awarded by the Economic Development Commission.
AmSoc recognizes the reach of the Women Economic Forum Iberoamérica 2026, which opened spaces for collaboration across this important region. Likewise, it celebrates the third edition of the Brilliant Minds Festival, an event dedicated to the exchange of ideas on binational business and political leadership, which I had the opportunity to attend.
In April, our Organizations Steering Group invited us to contribute to Fundación Lilo so it can continue providing care to children with congenital heart disease and offering various forms of support to their families.
This April 30, we celebrated Kids Day for the fourth consecutive year in collaboration with Aeroméxico. This event, held at Hangar Oriente at Mexico City International Airport, has become a memorable experience for children and adults alike.
To close, Deby Beard recommends visiting Petit Hunan to enjoy its exclusive take on the famous Peking Duck and other dishes from Chinese cuisine.
Best regards,
Larry Rubin
