CORPORATE AMERICAN ADVISORY COUNCIL

This select cross-sector group includes the CEO’s from 24 leading American Companies in Mexico, which represent a very large portion of foreign investment in the country. The Council serves as a sounding board of American interests in Mexico, and an excellent exchange channel for companies who face similar challenges.

Francisco Garza has broad experience with more than 23 years in the Mexican Automotive Industry and in several countries. He began his career in the Distribution Sector where he had various commercial roles. In 1998, he joined General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) where he held the position of Operations Manager and was responsible for the Extended Warranty Program launch in Mexico. In 2001, he was promoted as Sales and Marketing Director for Mexico and was responsible for the financing program strategy for General Motors. He had his first international assignment in 2005 when he was promoted as Chairman of the Board and General Director for GMAC in Ecuador.

After this assignment, he was appointed Chairman of the Board and General Director for GMAC in Argentina and, in 2009 he held the position of Chairman of the Board and General Manager of GM Financial Mexico, being the first Mexican to take the lead of this business. Francisco is a member of different chambers and associations, such as the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) where he is a member of the National Board of Directors. In addition, he belongs to the Executives Council of Global Companies (CEEG) where he is also a member of the Board of Directors; and he is President of the Corporate American Advisory Council, that brings together the 25 most important US companies operating in Mexico.

Francisco has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad Valle Continental and has an Executive Master’s Degree from the IDE Business School – institute endorsed by Universidad de Navarra – IESE; and has studied different executive programs at universities such as Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

COUNCIL OF LATIN AMERICA LEADERS

This select group of American companies with LATAM operations has been created to have a united front and work in the advancement of American business in all Latin America. Each participant of the Council is in different industries, in order to provide a channel for companies with similar challenges across the region.

Manuel Macedo, President of Honeywell Latin America since September 2019, responsible for the company’s entire operation in the region and to drive the growth of the company’s four strategic business units: Aerospace, Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT), Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) and Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS).

Manuel has over 25 years of experience in the adhesives, chemicals, consumer and construction industries. He has held executive leadership positions in Europe and Latin America, including the most recent as regional President of Henkel Latin America.

Manuel holds a degree in Business Administration from the Technical University of Lisbon, and an MBA in Industrial Strategy from the same institution. He is fluent in five languages and has lived in nine different countries.

Operations in the United States. Initiative in alliance with CONCAMIN, the umbrella organization representing over 100 different Industrial Sectors and Chambers in Mexico.
